Borderlands 4 October 30 Update: Brings Loot Fixes, Gameplay Optimizations, And Sound Improvements

Borderlands 4 released an update on October 30th, addressing several issues reported by players, such as loot falling into the void and the low drop rate of loot. The update also optimizes the game's sound effects to improve player comfort.

Let's take a look at the specific content of this update.Borderlands 4 October 30 Update: Brings Loot Fixes, Gameplay Optimizations, And Sound Improvements

New Boss Loot Drop Protection Mechanism

We all know that loot is crucial in Borderlands 4, it's the key to earning Borderlands 4 Money and improving your strength. However, you may have encountered situations where boss loot falls into the ground due to terrain or boss actions, and worse, lost loot cannot be retrieved from the Lost Loot machine.

This has been a very frustrating issue for many players. You painstakingly fight powerful bosses to improve your strength, only to have the loot slip through your fingers due to a bug.

Borderlands 4's latest update finally addresses this issue. An invisible wall has been added to the edge of cliffs, causing boss loot to bounce back when it touches it. This simple yet effective update means you no longer need to worry about loot falling off cliffs and being wasted.

Bod Shotgun Acquisition Optimization

Many players are still struggling to obtain legendary weapons due to the extremely low drop rate from bosses in Borderlands 4. To get a legendary weapon with the attributes and characteristics you need, you might have to spend a lot of time repeatedly farming the same boss.

The new weekly Wildcard mission in this update alleviates this problem. Completing the mission in about 10 minutes will directly reward you with a Bod shotgun.

You can repeatedly farm this drop until you get your ideal weapon. This is a great update for new players who aren't yet strong enough in combat, as completing the mission is much easier than defeating the boss.

Skill Cooldown Reset Optimization

Action Skills, Ordnance, and Repkits in Borderlands 4 all have cooldowns. While some skill upgrades can reduce cooldowns, you still need to use them carefully.

Sometimes accidentally using a skill forces you to spend extra time recharging it, which is really frustrating. However, this update includes an optimization to address this.

After the optimization, you can reset skill cooldowns by interacting with Guns Vending Machines or Lost Loot Machines. This optimization allows you to quickly start a new round of boss challenges, helping you craft higher-level gear faster.

Sound Effect Optimization

Borderlands 4 also optimized some game details, such as the sound effects for The Order Legendary Grenade Skully and Spidananggal.

After the update, the fire effects volume of The Order Legendary Grenade Skully will change with distance, enhancing the game's realism. The volume of Spidananggal's wings has also been reduced, improving your gaming comfort.

Knife Penetrator Augment Fix

This was a long-standing bug in Borderlands 4, allowing players to manipulate the knife's critical hit rate to 100%. This significantly disrupted game balance and was heavily criticized by players. Borderlands 4 has implemented several fixes for this bug.

This update announcement explicitly stated that Knife Penetrator Augment would be fixed, but testing revealed that the adjustment is not perfect. The 30% critical hit rate it provides can still stack with other knife blades, meaning extremely high critical hit rates can still be achieved through certain methods.

Currently, this abnormal critical hit bug still requires further optimization, and we hope future updates will provide more effective adjustments.

Overall, this update to Borderlands 4 significantly improves the player experience, especially the Boss loot drop protection mechanism, and the guaranteed Bod shotgun drop from weekly wildcard missions, which are both excellent improvements.

While some issues may still exist, let's patiently look forward to a better future for Borderlands 4!
