Some time ago, Diablo 4's 2025 roadmap introduced several new ARPG seasons, but many fans were disappointed because they did not bring much change and innovation compared to previous. But the following news has attracted our attention and made us look forward to it.
The developers have confirmed that the corperation related to Berserk will be coming to Diablo 4 and Diablo Immortal soon.
In the animation short, a Barbarian wearing Guts’ Berserker armor and holding a Dragon Slayer sword slaughtered a group of terrible demons. From this animation, it can be seen that Berserk may appear in Diablo 4 in this form.
As many people know, Berserk is a popular dark fantasy manga that Kentaro Miura began writing in 1988. He is considered a groundbreaking work.
This work is more suitable for some adventurous and thrill-seeking people. It mainly tells the story of a mercenary named Guts who adventures and survives in a dark fantasy world full of obstacles.
When Kentaro Miura passed away in 2021, the work was not yet completed. Then, his friend Kouji Mori and his apprentices continued to create and publish.
So far, Berserk has launched a trilogy of animated films, two anime adaptations, three games, a derivative novel, and more.
The influence of this work can be seen everywhere. Whenever we see a character wielding a funny big sword, we can guess that the inspiration for this character is probably Berserk. For example, Dark Souls and Elden Ring were influenced by this work.
It can be seen that Berserk is extremely popular worldwide, and its dark fantasy theme perfectly echoes the sanctuary in the game. This is also one of the main reasons why Diablo 4 and Diablo Immortal are crossing over with Berserk for its first IP collab.
Previously, both games had linked with World of Warcraft, and that corporation was to celebrate the 20th anniversary of World of Warcraft. The former's linkage was limited to store accessories, and players could get the accessories they wanted with Diablo 4 Gold. The latter expanded to in-game activities, including some interesting challenges and boss battles.
It is not clear at the moment what the two games will involve in their collaboration with the Berserk, but from the animated short trailer, we can at least learn that there is a certain chance of obtaining Guts' iconic armor and weapons.
Although the specific time of this linkage has not been announced, Diablo 4 Season 8 will meet us on April 29 and will last until July of the same year.
