You've Been Using Horadric Cube from Diablo 4 Lord of Hatred Wrong - Here's How to Fix It

As we all know, Diablo 4 Lord of Hatred added a powerful item that has appeared in previous Diablo games: Horadric Cube.

However, some players who have only played Diablo 4 may not understand how to use this powerful item, or may only use some of its functions. Some players even mistakenly believe it's a useless item because they don't know how to use it.

Don't worry, I will introduce the core functions of Horadric Cube, including:

  • 1. Manipulating Affixes
  • 2. Crafting Mythic Uniques
  • 3. Converting Ancestral Uniques into Unique Charms
  • 4. Recycling Legendary Seals and Charms
  • 5. Breaking Gem Level Cap
  • 6. Upgrading Ancestral ItemsYou've Been Using Horadric Cube from Diablo 4 Lord of Hatred Wrong - Here's How to Fix It

Manipulating Affixes

We know that weapons in Diablo 4 Lord of Hatred can be equipped with various affixes, among which the most commonly used are attack affixes, defensive affixes, resource affixes, mobility affixes, etc.

Some affixes can bring powerful additional effects to your weapons. For example, attack affixes can increase the damage dealt by the weapon, increase attack speed, or critical hit chance, etc.; defensive affixes can increase health points, increase health regeneration, reduce damage taken from enemies, etc.

One of the core functions of Horadric Cube is adding affixes to weapons, but the specific affixes obtained are random.

However, don't worry, having Diablo 4 Tuning Prism can significantly reduce this randomness. When using Horadric Cube's Remove Affix function and wanting to remove an affix of a specific attribute, you can use the corresponding type of Tuning Prism for precise removal.

Furthermore, when using Chaotic Reroll function, you can also use the corresponding Tuning Prism to specify the direction of weapon reforging, but things won't always go as planned; Tuning Prism only increases the success rate.

To achieve these operations, you first need to know which categories Diablo 4 Tuning Prisms belong to. Blizzard provides a reference for this: Loot Filter in the game settings. Therefore, you can check this before using any Tuning Prism.

However, according to some players, the information about Tuning Prism isn't entirely accurate, and the classification logic of Horadric Cube isn't exactly the same as its classification logic. Therefore, you should only use it as a reference.

Crafting Mythic Uniques

In Diablo 4: Lord of Hatred, players can obtain Mythic Uniques by participating in Undercity gameplay. However, Mythic Uniques are very rare, with a low drop rate.

Fortunately, Horadric Cube can be used to craft some Mythic Uniques that would otherwise only be obtainable through Undercity gameplay. You need to collect some Greater Tributes of Armaments, and then use Horadric Cube's crafting function to create Mythic Uniques.

Similarly, you can also use a certain number of Mythic Uniques to craft legendary items. This way, you can use the relatively easy-to-obtain Greater Tributes of Armaments to craft a variety of powerful equipment.

Converting Ancestral Uniques into Unique Charms

Unique Charms allow you to use the unique effects of Diablo 4 Items without actually wearing them, making them highly valuable.

Now, you can also craft Unique Charms directly using Horadric Cube. You need an Ancestral Unique as material and three any Unique Charms to convert it into a Unique Charm.

However, note that not every Ancestral Unique can be converted into a Unique Charm. Blizzard doesn't explicitly indicate which can be converted and which cannot, so you'll have to experiment to discover which items can be converted into charms.

Recycling Legendary Seals and Charms

Horadric Cube can use "3 to 1 Transmutation" function to combine any three Legendary Seals into a new, random Legendary Seal, or combine three any set bonus Charms into a new, random set bonus Charm.

Therefore, you can use this feature to dispose of Legendary Seals and Set Bonus Charms that you don't need. While the specific Legendary Seals and Charms you obtain are random, there's no loss to you, and you also have the chance to acquire more powerful ones.

Breaking Gem Level Cap

Horadric Cube can also be used to craft gems several levels higher than the highest-level gems a Jeweler can craft.

In Diablo 4 Lord of Hatred, the highest-level gems a Jeweler can craft are Grand Gems. You can use Horadric Cube's crafting function to combine five Grand Gems of any type into a random Horadric Gem. Then, you can use five Horadric Gems of any type to craft an even higher-level gem.

Upgrading Ancestral Items

Ancestral Uniques are also very rare items in Diablo 4 Lord of Hatred. As mentioned earlier, they can now be converted into Unique Charms.

But how do you obtain an Ancestral Unique? Previously, we could only acquire them through various gameplay methods. Now, however, we can directly open Horadric Cube, place a regular Ancestral item inside, and use Upgrade to Unique function to instantly obtain an Ancestral Unique of the same piece. The operation is incredibly simple.

What many Diablo 4 players are unaware of regarding this gameplay is that you can take a Magic Ancestral item or Rare Ancestral item, then use Horadric Cube to remove all its affixes, turning it into a regular Ancestral item. You can then upgrade it into an Ancestral Unique, which is very convenient.

Of course, the attributes of Ancestral Unique you obtain are random. Obtaining a powerful Ancestral Unique still requires considerable experimentation.

These are the core and commonly used functions of Hordric Cube in Diablo 4 Lord of Hatred. Hope this helps!
