Diablo 4 Season 10 promises to set a new milestone, becoming one of the largest and most content-rich seasons ever, outside of the game's existing expansions. The developers recently released Diablo 4 Season 10 Infernal Chaos patch notes, detailing the upcoming gameplay changes and all-new season content.
Not only does it fix important issues that plagued all previous seasons, it also significantly optimizes Chaos Perks and new Uniques, giving players plenty of time to build their gear and take on Bartuc, Lord of Chaos, the new Infernal Hordes boss of this season.
However, not all of its changes are beneficial to players, resulting in missing parts of the update. But don't worry, these negative changes are minor in the overall picture.
Below, I'll detail which changes are worth praising and which are more worth complaining about.
Successful Changes
1. Bosses' Forced Immunity Phase Has Been Removed
Perhaps the most needed change in Diablo 4 is a rework of the immunity phase for bosses. In previous seasons, bosses like Uber Lilith and Andariel would force players to complete the fight, becoming invincible while attacking players, even with the best possible comp.
This left many players feeling deeply unfair, believing that with each passing season, boss invincibility phases, combat-breaking bugs, and excessive visual clutter made encounters difficult and unenjoyable, a problem that only worsened over time.
However, in Season 10, players will be able to optimize their comp's DPS, and if you're high enough to defeat the boss within 10 seconds, you can skip the invincibility phase entirely, preventing it from triggering at all. This should make the experience of repeatedly grinding bosses throughout the season much smoother and more efficient.
2. Necromancer Minions Will Revive Along With Players
Necromancer minions will revive along with the character. This seemingly small but thoughtful improvement is a welcome one for Necromancer players. Previously, after a character died and revived, minions had to be re-summoned, which was especially troublesome at the beginning of a boss fight. Now, with this season update, you no longer have to worry about losing your minion army due to death.
3. Mana Shield Let Sorcerer Become More Powerful
Sorcerer's popularity in Diablo 4 Season 10 is largely due to its unique Chaos Perk, Mana Shield. It allows Sorcerer to use mana to offset damage and, if it takes no damage for a certain period of time, regenerates extremely high mana. In PTR, this effect required four seconds of inactivity to trigger, but in the official version, it's been shortened to two seconds, a significant improvement.
However, be aware that activating this skill sacrifices 99% of your health, which is quite risky. It requires precise control and requires a significant investment of Diablo 4 Gold to improve your survivability, so this is worth considering.

Failed Changes
1. Orphan Maker Unique Has Been Weakened
Rogue's Orphan Maker was originally underwhelmed during testing due to a new mechanic called Reload. While it increased damage, it also increased the skill's backswing, which many players found awkward.
Now, in the official version, its damage bonus has been reduced again: from doubling the damage bonus every two Reload Skills, it has now increased it by only 50%. With this change, this item is likely to go from mediocre to gathering dust in the inventory.
2. Shroud Of False Death Fixed A Useful Bug
Season 9's Shroud of False Death Mythic had a hidden effect, triggered by a bug, that increased all passive skill levels by +2 instead of +1. This was originally a tacit player benefit, but this season the developers fixed it and reverted it back to its normal +1 level. While not a critical issue, players who hoped this bug would carry over into the new season may be disappointed.
3. Sorcerer's Galvanic Azurite Unique Removes Synergy Bonus
This could be a significant nerf for Sorcerer. Sorcerer's new Galvanic Azurite Unique Ring originally increased the level of their Elemental Synergies passive ability, which synergized well with Crackling Energy, significantly boosting Sorcerer's damage. However, the patch notes now remove this bonus and instead increase the level of Convulsions.
While the developers also increased the base damage of Charged Flash Legendary Aspect, whether Galvanic Azurite Unique Ring's loss of its core synergy will affect the power of Lightning Sorcerers remains to be seen based on community feedback.
Overall, the changes in Season 10 offer more benefits than disadvantages. Their core focus is on smoother combat and more diverse character builds, paving the way for challenging bosses and exploring new content. The new season has begun, and no matter which class you choose, now is the perfect time to jump in!
