Diablo 4 Season 11 PTR is now live. This update is packed with content, featuring improvements to both equipment and mechanics. Many previously criticized issues, such as Tempering and Masterworking, have been included in Season 11 optimization list. The changes to the mechanics and gameplay in Season 11 PTR may have caused some confusion for some players. Below, I'll explain each one individually.
New Seasonal System: Divine Gifts
This is a new seasonal feature from patch 2.5.0. You can earn Corrupted Essence by defeating Lesser Evils. Turning this in to Angel Hadriel unlocks two Divine Gifts related to the slain Lesser Evils, helping you improve your abilities against stronger enemies.
Divine Gifts primarily consists of three sections: Rewards, Corrupted Gifts, and Purified Gifts.
You can activate a Corrupted Gift by opening your inventory and inserting it outside Divine Gifts panel. This does not affect the bonuses granted by Divine Gift, but it will make some activities more challenging. Corrupted Gift slots unlock automatically.
Inserting Divine Gifts activates a Purified Gift, which clears negative effects, grants buffs, and doubles rewards. Purified Gift slots require certain conditions.
You can unlock a Purified Gift slot by defeating Rank II Duriel, Rank IV Andariel, Rank VI Azmodan, and Rank VIII Belial.
Note: This is a limited-time mode available only in Season 11, so be sure to try it!
Elite Mode: Ascend The Tower
A new limited-time challenge mode has been added to Season 11 PTR, specifically for elite wanderers. In this mode, you can challenge other players of similar skill to climb higher on Leaderboards.
How To Unlock It?
Unlock Tower in Obelisk in Cerrigar, then select the difficulty level you want. Note that the timer starts the moment you leave the starting circle, so be sure to complete the entire dungeon within 10 minutes!
Tower Information
You'll traverse multiple floors with randomized terrain and randomly spawning monsters. Each floor also features a Tower. Destroying it grants you a Pylon, which grants a short-term buff. Four Pylons spawn per challenge, each in three unique locations. The first three locations are unique, while the fourth spawns in a previously discovered Shrine.
To complete the level, you must defeat Elites, Champions, or Goblins to obtain Orbs, which increase your progress. Then, defeat the randomly spawned Tower boss before the countdown ends.
Note: The monsters in Tower will remain consistent with those in Season 11 update, but the overall difficulty has increased. Therefore, it's recommended to invest Diablo 4 Gold in advance to enhance your items and make them easier to handle.
Reaching The Top: Leaderboards
Diablo 4 Season 11 PTR has reintroduced Leaderboards, allowing those who dare to challenge themselves to reach the top to achieve glory!
Leaderboards track your Tower Tier and completion time. After completing a challenge, you can view your rankings in Cerrigar's Artificer's Obelisk or in Collections Menu.
Leaderboards are divided into two categories: Hardcore and Normal. Each leaderboard is divided into multiple categories, which I've divided into single-player and multiplayer.
Single-player has its own leaderboard for each class, while multiplayer is divided into Party of 2, Party of 3, and Party of 4.
All leaderboards display the player's name, completion level, time, and date. To quickly find the information you need, you can filter by platform, such as All Platforms or PC Only, Hardcore or Normal, Friends, or Clan.
Leaderboards in Season 11 PTR are focused on feature introduction; more complete Leaderboards will be available after Season 11 launch.
Currently, Leaderboards limit cross-platform play. If cross-platform play is disabled, you will not be able to view the rankings.
The Return Of Capstone Dungeons
Capstone Dungeons are a challenge mode with five difficulty levels: Normal, Expert, Torment I, Torment II, and Torment III. Each difficulty level is indicated with a recommended level, so you can choose your challenge accordingly.
More Challenge: Season Rank
Diablo 4 Season 11 PTR transitions from the original Renown system in Seasonal Realm to a Season Rank system, where your Renown is stored in Eternal Realm.
In 2.5.0 PTR, completing Season Rank goals rewards you with Skill Points, Smoldering Ashes, and Cosmetics.
Leveling in the new Seasonal Realm is tied to Capstone Dungeons, requiring you to complete them to advance. This also comes with generous rewards:
- Tier 1, 2, and 3 earn Skill Points
- Tier 3, 4, 5, and 6 earn Paragon Points
- The bonus potion capacity from previous seasons has been replaced with other rewards.
It’s worth noting that Altars of Lilith and Tenets of Akarat have been nerfed. They no longer grant permanent stats and power, but only offer experience points and rewards.
Overall, Diablo 4 Season 11 PTR offers more gameplay than ever before, with many groundbreaking innovations. At the same time, this will also be a more challenging season, with the newly added Tower gameplay and returning Capstone Dungeons testing your mechanics and item prowess. So, are you ready for the upcoming Season 11?
