FC 27 Changes Explained: Easier SBCs, New Evolutions and FUT Gallery

For longtime EA Sports FC players, the most familiar experience is spending a significant amount of time navigating the menus. Sometimes, tedious operations even take longer than the match itself.

FC 27 recognized this problem and designed various mechanisms to save players' time, including simplifying SBCs and restructuring Evolution system. Simultaneously, to satisfy players' needs for collecting player cards, FUT Gallery feature was introduced.

As more and more players with early access experience FIFA 27, the detailed gameplay of these features has been revealed.

FC 27 FUT Changes Explained: Easier SBCs, New Evolutions and FUT Gallery

SBCs Completely Simplified

First, the gameplay of SBCs has been completely simplified, specifically including the following:

New SBC Score System

In previous FUT games, completing an SBC often required players to rack their brains to assemble a lineup that met specific Chemistry, Position, and Rating requirements. This process was time-consuming and tedious.

However, in FC 27, EA completely removed the gameplay elements from traditional SBCs, replacing them with a brand new SBC Score system.

Each player card is assigned a fixed score based on its attributes. Players simply need to submit any number of player cards to accumulate enough points to complete SBC.

Other New Features

The new SBC system also solves two long-standing problems for players:

First, previously, a single SBC lineup could not contain duplicate player cards. In FC 27, players can submit multiple duplicate player cards at once, giving duplicate players drawn from packs a more direct use.

Second, late in the game, players often accumulate a large number of useless low-scoring cards. Now, thanks to the new Squad Score system, these cards can also be used to complete SBCs, becoming new, usable resources - such as Coins or player card packs.

Furthermore, the new Partial Progress feature in SBCs allows players to submit player cards in batches, eliminating the need to collect all player cards at once.

Evolutions Redesigned

Evolutions, one of the most popular gameplay modes in FUT, has been redesigned in FIFA 27.

Evolution Pathways

First, a new gameplay mode called Evolution Pathways has been added to Evolutions.

In previous versions, the upgrade path in Evolutions was linear and fixed. However, in FC 27, certain Evolutions will offer branching options.

For example, when evolving a midfielder, players may need to choose between an attacking or defensive path, and this choice will directly change the player's attributes and abilities.

Therefore, even if players use the exact same player card for the same Evolution, the resulting player stats, abilities, PlayStyles, etc., may be completely different, allowing each player to customize a unique player card.

Evolution Chain Preview

Another important new feature in Evolutions is Evolution Chain Preview.

In the past, after completing an Evolution, players might find that their player card no longer meets the conditions for the next Evolution, causing the evolution to be interrupted.

The new Evolution Chain Preview feature in FC 27 allows players to preview what other Evolutions a player can perform after completing a current Evolution before even starting one.

This feature is incredibly welcome, eliminating need for third-party websites to plan Evolution routes.

PlayStyles Lab Adjustments

PlayStyles Lab, introduced in FUT 26, will continue in FUT 27. However, unlike FC 26 where everything had to be configured from scratch, in this game, eligible items will come with some pre-built PlayStyles, which players can then fine-tune and customize.

Meanwhile, unlocking some top-tier PlayStyles will require players to invest more FC 27 Coins or time, making them more valuable.

FC 27 FUT Gallery Preview

New FUT Gallery

Finally, we'll introduce the new FUT Gallery in FIFA 27.

Core Gameplay

In the past, once players sold, discarded, or put their player cards into SBCs, they were permanently lost.

But FUT Gallery completely changes that. It's a permanent digital archive that records every player card that has ever been part of your club's history - whether you acquired them through Packs, Transfer Market, Objectives, or SBCs.

More importantly, even after you use a player card, it remains in FUT Gallery's history and is counted towards your collection progress.

Gallery Sets

FUT Gallery features a collection system called Gallery Sets, where players submit eligible player cards to Sets.

After completing a set, the system will rate the cards you submit based on their quality, from lowest to highest: D, C, B, A, and S. A corresponding score will be awarded to the player based on the rating.

Factors affecting player card ratings include: rarity - for example, whether card is Bronze, Silver, or Gold; and the card's rating. The rarer the player card, the higher its rating.

Gallery Level and Gallery Tokens

In FUT Gallery gameplay, increasing your Gallery Level is a crucial long-term goal. As your level increases, you can unlock various exclusive rewards, such as Gallery Tokens and rare Holographic Cards.

Gallery Tokens can be redeemed for rewards in the dedicated Token Store. Hall of FUT player cards are exclusive rewards for FUT Gallery in the early game.

Holographic Cards are visually more impressive rare player cards. While their attributes are the same as the regular player cards, their collectible value is higher.

The above provides a detailed introduction to the three main gameplay modes in EA Sports FC 27: SBCs, Evolutions, and FUT Gallery. Overall, the game significantly simplifies some gameplay elements, freeing players from wasting time on various trivial matters, thus gaining widespread player approval.

As the official release date approaches, more game information will undoubtedly be revealed. Let's wait and see.
