All The Items In Masters Of Ceremony Revealed For Helldivers 2 Are A Bit Lackluster

Helldivers 2 is a Windows PC and PS5 shooter that has been popular with players since the last season of the game was released, bringing players the thrilling experience of fighting alien creatures in the galaxy.

After a long two-month wait, we finally got a chance to see what will follow this month’s new Warbond battle pass. But in fact, there is much more to look forward to.

All The Items In Masters Of Ceremony Revealed For Helldivers 2 Are A Bit Lackluster

Warbond is more formally known as Masters of Ceremony, and its theme is to commemorate Helldivers’ forebears who fought in previous generations. It will be launched on May 15th in Super Store, and we can check it out at 9 am UTC (2 am PDT/5 am EDT/10 am BST).

Like past Warbonds, the pass costs 1,000 Super Credits, which can also be obtained from Store for $10. Of course, if you want to get previous Helldivers 2 war tickets, all other premium war tickets are also available.

Warbond Content

The rewards for this Warbond mission include many Helldivers 2 Items, including 15 new weapons, armor and other cosmetic items. However, the functions of some items are not clearly stated, and some are only speculated. The specific contents are as follows:

Weapons:

  • R-2 Amendment: This is a precision rifle equipped with a 20-round magazine and a bayonet, which can be used to decapitate enemies in a democratic system
  • CQC-2 Sabre: This is a new weapon used to decapitate and pierce enemies, more suitable for close combat
  • G-142 Pyrotech Grenade: This weapon is like a deadly firecracker that can release sparks and explode into a grenade

Stratagem:

  • CQC-1 One True Flag: It can be used to stab enemies and wield, and is the first Stratagem melee weapon in the game so far

Armor Sets:

  • RE-1861 Parade Commander armor and helmet: This is probably a light armor set, and its skill Reinforced Epaulettes can prevent your limbs from breaking when they would otherwise break
  • RE-2310 Honorary Guard armor and helmet: This is probably a medium armor set, and also comes with Reinforced Epaulettes

Booster:

  • Sample Scanner: This is probably a tracker that can help you track samples farther away

Cosmetics:

  • Federations Embrace Banner
  • Humble Regalia Cape
  • Federations Embrace Cape
  • Lockstep Emote
  • Decorated Hero Title
  • Humble Regalia Banner

Refined New Looks

In order to meet the expectations and needs of players, the developers will add a series of new FRV patterns for all players in the previously released Warbonds. On May 15th, you’ll be able to check out Freedom’s Flame, Viper Commando, Chemical Agents, and Truth Enforcers Warbond pages in Acquisitions!

Real Reviews And Player Feedback

From a gameplay perspective, CQC-2 Sabre, G-142 Pyrotech Grenade, and R-2 Amendment are all very useful combat weapons. Amendment has both a bayonet and a scope, making it look like a cross between R-2124 Constitution Rifle and R-6 Marksman Rifle.

In addition, Saber gives you a high-damage melee option, and when paired with Ballistic Shield Backpack, it can create a true sword-and-shield matchup. And the Pyrotech Grenade sprays flames over a wide area, which is very convenient when you’re in a Terminids or Illuminate unit.

However, looking at the game’s entire arsenal, this addition to Warbond is a bit redundant. We already have Deadeye, so what do we need another semi-automatic rifle with similar functionality? And after having incendiaries in the Freedom’s Flame pass, there’s really no need for a Pyrotech Grenade.

The new light and medium armor sets also have skills similar to the previous armor’s Servo Assisted skill, which increases limb health by 50% and increases the range of projectiles by 30%. So this skill in the new content is really not to be missed.

In addition, the CQC-1 One True Flag is a portable Super Earth flag spear that takes up a strategic slot. But neither the trailer nor the description of this flag on other official platforms mentions whether it has any effects such as range buffs. One can’t help but speculate that it may just be a gimmicky melee.

While this silly and ultimately pointless weapon fits in with Helldivers 2’s comedic style, it’s a bit too tame to get it in a paid war ticket - and in a game that is itself quite boring.

For these reasons, my enthusiasm and anticipation for unlocking and completing new war bonds has been reduced a bit, and I can see from social media and gaming platforms that I am not the only one who is disappointed. Many players have said that the newly unlocked content is similar to the past, lacking imagination and boring. Some players even said that this is simply the lowest value Warbond ever.

In fact, it’s not that these new weapons are really bad. They are actually great. Some look like futuristic equipment, and some are similar to what you see in Warhammer: 40,000 Kriegsman.

The real problem is that all of these things seem to just repeat Helldivers 2 sandbox instead of really adding useful content. In the future when Illuminate is about to invade on a large scale, this is not what we need.

The developers said that they are preparing other content for the game and will release it in Premium Warbond on Thursday, and there will be more exciting news soon. So if you are disappointed with Warbonds, you might as well look forward to the exciting content coming soon.

Overall, if you like co-op shooters, intense sci-fi action, zany physics, and hilarious satirical writing, this game is also a good choice among PC and PS5 games.
