As Keen Games unveils the sixth content update, the team’s open-world survival action RPG co-op game reaches a major milestone.
On April 11, 2025, Enshrouded development team was excited to confirm that the total number of players exceeded four million, just before they released the details of the sixth content update, Thralls of Twilight, for early access. At 3i Project Press Conference, Keen Games previewed the new content coming to the game, revealing a series of new features such as new enemies, with more details to be revealed before the release in May.
As one of the star indie game developers participating in 3i Project Virtual Press Conference, Keen Games unveiled some of the key features of the sixth content update. More details will be revealed in May, and the update itself will also be released in May:
Thralls of Twilight features revealed at 3i Project Press Conference:
- New enemies that will crawl, creep and stalk you.
- There are more reasons to enter the miasma: it’s more dangerous than ever, you’ll find new resources, unlock weapon customization mechanics, and more.
- Nighttime has been enhanced, with various nocturnal enemies roaming the map and new rewards waiting for you to discover. What will you find in the dark? Can you get ahead of them?
- With the new weapon customization mechanic, you can create weapons with glittering gems. Customization, crafting, and deconstruction are available.
Since Enshrouded entered Early Access, it has been nearly 15 months, 5 major content updates, 7 patches, and more than 20 hot fixes. In the words of Keen Games Creative Director Antony Christoulakis, players have provided “countless” suggestions and proposals for future improvements. “It is impossible to respond to all feedback, so we have chosen to express our sincere gratitude and sort it by frequency and popularity,” to adjust the overall development direction of the game during development.
Keen Games also takes this opportunity to thank players, press and creators for their support and valuable feedback so far, which has had a significant impact on the development of Early Access and will continue to enable the design and construction of magnificent bases rarely seen in many Voxel building games.
They said that Enshrouded is honored to enjoy Steam's highly praised rating based on 66,000 ratings, an official Reddit community with more than 82,000 members, and a Discord channel with more than 143,000 users.
The developers are amazed by the results of the joint construction of four million players, including Erebor from Lord of the Rings film series, which was built by 33 players in 74 days (more than 10,000 hours of work) using more than 15 million blocks.
